Joan Bell Behr

Attended Marshalltown Junior College 1953-55, then graduated from Iowa State Teachers College 1957. Taught physical education in Atlantic 1957-60. Met and married Merlyn Behr 1959. Moved to Urbana, IL, where Merlyn attended U.of Ill. Moved to DeKalb, IL, 1961 and lived here (and occasional other places) to the present time. Merlyn passed away in 1995. Proud mother of Cindy and Craig, and grandmother of Shaina, Nathan, Gordon, Ross and Kristen.

I remember the pep assemblies, bonfires, homecoming parades, snake dances through downtown, and going to the Y after ballgames. All of these made great MHS memories.
