Bill Shaffer, 82, of Granbury, Texas; passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. Memorials may be made to Acton United Methodist Church or Habitat for Humanity of Hood County.
Bill was born on July 18, 1935 to Cloe and Kay Shaffer in Marshalltown, Iowa. He married Joanne Lenora Hall on June 19, 1960 in Albion Iowa. He worked for Lennox Industries for 47 years and travelled all over the United States and the world.

Bill Shaffer, 82, of Granbury, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. Bill was born on July 18, 1935 to Cloe and Kay Shaffer in Marshalltown, Iowa. He married Joanne Lenora Hall on June 19, 1960 in Albion Iowa. He worked for Lennox Industries for 47 years and travelled all over the United States and the world.
Bill was an active member of Methodist churches in Marshalltown, Colleyville and Granbury. He was a member of Marshalltown Community Theater where he sang and acted in many shows. He was a Master Gardener and was very involved in Habitat for Humanity of Hood County. Bill was a lifelong learner who loved reading, especially history. He was a dedicated and loving father who was involved in all his children’s activities. He loved teaching his grandchildren about animals and plants. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne Shaffer, children: Kenneth William Shaffer and wife Marcy, and Karen Kay Fox and husband Colonel Theodore, grandchildren: Nathaniel Shaffer and wife Julie, Caleb Shaffer, Gabrielle Shaffer, Hailey Fox and Hunter Fox and sister, Linda Svec and husband James.
