Dr. Gerald Houseman, died Friday, December 20, 2013. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on April 12, 1935. He is survived by his wife, Juliana, as well as his three children: Christopher (Linda Lee) of Torrance, California; Elisabeth, of San Francisco; and Victoria (Richard Horton) of River Falls, Wisconsin. Survivors include two brothers, Lee and Michael Houseman.

April 12, 1935 - December 20, 2013 Dr. Gerald Houseman, recently of Manchester, New Hampshire but formerly of Spokane, died Friday, December 20, 2013 after a year of declining health. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on April 12, 1935. He was a professor of political science at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (Indiana) for thirty years but also taught at Eastern Washington University, Nuffield College, Oxford and New College, Durham, in England as well as at the University of California, Irvine. He also spent several years abroad teaching at universities in Malaysia and Indonesia. He authored or edited ten books in political science. He was a Democratic candidate for congress in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Juliana, as well as his three children: Christopher (Linda Lee) of Torrance, California; Elisabeth, of San Francisco; and Victoria (Richard Horton) of River Falls, Wisconsin. Other survivors include his two grandsons, Rene and Roland Houseman, and his two brothers, Lee and Michael Houseman, and their spouses and families. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Penelope Lyon, to whom he was married for thirty-three years.
