Robert Wyant

Robert Wyant

Ralph Robert Wyant, "Bob" to all his friends, was born February 2, 1935 to Lozetta V. Ruch and James Claude Wyant in Indian Village (Tama County) Iowa.

He grew up in Marshall County, Iowa and graduated from Marshalltown, Iowa High School in 1953.  He continued his business education at the University of Iowa and graduated in 1956.  Following graduation, he immediately enlisted and spent four years in the Air Force as a Meteorologist.

Bob made finance his career and after working for a number of companies formed his own "Whatever Services".  A highlight of the many clients he had was working with Bob Naegele when they brought the Minnesota Wild Hockey Team to the Twin Cities.  He loved to tell about standing shoulder to shoulder with Governor Norm Coleman and Bob Naegle as they time stamped the season ticket orders as they were faxed to them.

His final years (until he was 83) were spent with the Republican Party of Minnesota.  As a staunch Republican he really enjoyed that!

His other interests were many hours of collecting antiques with his wife, Ronna.  He was also very involved in setting up and running the audio for several churches.

His heart was drawn to Missions needs around the world.  He and Ronna supported many ministries and were so delighted to be able to build churches in Cuba and Zambia.

He had four siblings:  Wayne George (wife Lorna), both deceased; Betty June Wyant Lunsford (Paul), both deceased; Helen Juanita Wyant Elsberry (Larry), husband deceased; Lyle Dean Wyant (deceased) (Diane).

Everyone commented on his ready smile and always being ready to lend a hand.  He was very generous and loved entertaining his many friends.

Many memories of Robert Wyant, but perhaps the most memorable was our fishing trip to Wall Lake that had dried up anf we ended up in Minnosota for our fishing.  Extremely tired after an all night search but ready to fish. So, we got in the boat  and motored out onto the lake to fish.  All three of us promptly fell asleep and awoke later to find we were burned to a crisp. What a miserable night in our tent with heat radiating off our bodies.  RIP
